Tomorrow is the day I have been waiting, planning, and praying for. This day will change my life forever, not so much the day, but the idea of me moving to another country. I have dreamed of this [in a sense] since I was 12 years old. I am trusting the Lord to teach me so much while I am there. I want to grow so much in my relationship with the Him, learn to rely on Him, and to run to His word through this experience. I am excited to see and become apart of another culture. Meet new people who will become life-long friends and everything else that comes with this experience.
It is going to be harder than ever to say goodbye. We had a party last Saturday and that was so so sad. Most of my family came and I knew I wouldn't see them again until next time if I'm home. [which who knows when that will be] This past Sunday was my last Sunday at FBC. And of course Thursday as I board the plane will be the hardest- saying goodbye to my parents. I am going to miss everyone so much, but at the same time its bittersweet. I know I am doing exactly what the Lord wants me to and I am so excited for it.
I have raised $4695.00 and ONLY $7305.00 left to go! I thank everyone once again or your prayers and support. The Lord amazing me each time I receive another note letting me know someone is praying for me or check. It has been such a blessing watching the Lord provide in ways I could never image.
Please pray for me as I travel tomorrow and friday, and as I leave my loved ones.
Below is the latest update on my friend Graham Stump. This is what his wife Randi posted yesterday.
Praying for Graham Stump Update on Us 8/24/10:
Today was a good day at the ‘ol Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital. I am finding my way around now quite nicely, and am getting to know most everyone on the floor. It’s so sad seeing some of the patients and realizing that Graham is actually not one of the worse. Some are very young children and it just breaks my heart. My eyes have been opened to a whole new world….the world of hurting and broken people! I have learned so much from this and one of those things is to be more sensitive to these hurting people and their families. Graham had an intense day of therapy and is moving right along, literally! He has to learn how to walk all over again and it was painful to watch him struggle through it. I thought he looked pathetic, but the therapist was thrilled with his progress. Obviously, I don’t know what I’m looking for, but he is trying to at least move his legs and take a step, even though it’s pitiful right now to say the least. He was talking up a storm today too! He was talking so much that I wouldn’t be able to repeat it all here on Facebook. Some of what he says doesn’t make sense, but when asked his dad and mom’s name, his address, his kid’s names and mine, he got it right! Can you believe that?!?!?! You should see my face when he gets a question right. I’m like that proud mom at the spring play when their kid has the lead role and they get their lines right! I am just in awe with his speech today! I am slowly getting my husband back each day.
Prayer Requests:
It’s pretty obvious that Graham’s left arm is going to be his biggest challenge at getting back as far as the physical goes. I’m not even sure he knows it’s there most of the time and he keeps it very clenched to his side. The therapists are determined to make it work! But pray that God will make it work!
Miracle of the day:
There were too many to count today! He’s working harder at trying to stand and is getting stronger each day. He is working his legs better. He’s talking much more and telling me more of what he wants; like that he’s thirsty. He’s following most commands, although sometimes I think he thinks they’re dumb and won’t follow them because he’s stubborn. The therapists agree!
Humor of the day:
I walked into his room this morning and was so excited to see him. He immediately said something to me, but I had to ask him to repeat it because I couldn’t understand it. I got real close to his mouth and clear as day he said: “You’re smokin’ hot!” I laughed right at him and it made me feel good until 10 minutes later he said: “You don’t look familiar to me!” Oh well! At least he’s not telling the nurses they’re hot!
Keep praying!
I will write again soon. I will either be in an airport or in HUNGARY! yay!

home SWEET home

Hello everyone,
I am finally home. I arrived last saturday the 31st of July and it has been non-stop ever since. I have had so much to do and so many other things that still need to be done. Just a little update on my support for Hungary: I have almost reached the 5000 dollar goal for September which is a BIG answer to prayers. I can't say thank you enough for those of you who have prayed, gave- money and ideas. We have actually purchased my plane ticket. I will be leaving August 26 for Hungary. :] This is such an exciting time for me. I am counting the days. 21 more sleeps.
On another note... please be in prayer for a friend of mine from NY. He [Graham Stump] was in a serious accident at the rodeo last friday night, July 30th. To sum it all up: He was air lifted to Albany Med. and is in ICU. He has a severe concussion to his head with some bleeding on the brain. He is in an induced coma to keep him quiet. There are a few broken ribs in his back. Since then more information and clarity have been given...The last update went as follows: "Today has actually been a good day for us in the ICU! The Drs were originally not going to wake him up, but after a good report from his cat-scan decided to not only start weaning him off of some of the drugs, but also remove the "bolt" in his head that was measuring the pressure in his brain! An awesome answer to prayer!! There were still some "bumps" in the road today, but according to the Drs these "bumps" are all normal. Because of all the fluid in his chest one section of his lung has collapsed. They are actually doing a procedure as I write this to help break up the fluid and try to get his lung inflated again. He is still fighting a fever and again we will not know the extent of any neurological damage until he wakes up and can tell us where he hurts and what he is able to do."
I ask that if you are reading this for you to please say a special prayer for Graham Stump, his wife Randi and their two little boys [Wyatt and Keith]. If you would like to follow his updates so you can continue to pray for him there is a Facebook page called: Praying for Graham Stump
Hopefully I will update again before I leave, but until then please be in prayer as I begin to pack, finish up my degree, and begin saying my goodbyes!
~Oh the picture is of me and my nephew Jordan. We were having some fun playing with the photo booth on the computer.
